Hi.
Parkfoot campsite at lake ullswater is beautiful. My children loved it!

Because its got a bar with onsite with 'entertainment' it can get quite large noisy groups - you might be lucky and get some peace and quiet but its a campsite I've vowed I'd never return to.

Eskdale c&cc site is awesome; well maintained site with lovely views, near the village of Boot and the Eskdale and Ravenglass railway. Bit more expensive as uiu pay extra if not a member and slightly more difficult to get to... But well worth it!

We have been to Park Foot a few times. First was ok but second time was over a bank holiday last year and we were down by the lake. The fields were rammed full and the toilet block was the most disgusting sight. Will not be returning.

I love Boot and Eskdale. By far the best side of the lakes. There are 2 campsites. The camping and caravn club one in Boot village and Fisherground at Eskdale. Both are wonderful for young kids. Easy river walks, scenery, quiet and Ratty steam railway.

However neither of them take caravans (narrow twisty road ending at the hard knot pass) caravans stay down at the coast at Ravenglass and get the little train up the valley. Boot is a lovely trip on the train with 2 pubs to eat at in the village or a cafe at the station.
