We (3 families. 1 caravan and 2 tents) are looking for a campsite in North Cornwall, Devon, or Dorset where we can guarantee 3 pitches next to each other. We also want to be within a short walk to a sand beach as between us we have three two year olds and two one year olds.
We are struggling! Can anyone help???

Yes that's right. Depends what you mean by North Cornwall. But I have just booked Trevornick near Newquay and they had a few pitches available. You can check online.
We have booked a site in Cornwall, near hayle, for this summer but found it difficult to find one pitch. We ended up booking a site a little (3 miles)inland because those that did have availability were Saturday to Saturday and we can't do that because of my wife's shifts.
If you want west Dorset though, west Dorset leisure holidays, golden cap and highlands end are fantastic sites. Golden cap doesn't boast the best facilities but is on the beach, has a pub on the beach and the tent field is so big I can't imagine you not finding 3 pitches together.
Highlands end has first class washroom facilities, is a short walk from the beach and the town of west bay but does not have such a large field. It looked quite snug when we were there last august. We are back again this august.
I would add that highlands end has more facilities for children, an family wash rooms, indoor heated pool, a cafe, a clubhouse with playground in the garden, a large adventure playground by the camping area. It's worth checking their website for availability..... If west Dorset, Lyme Regis, char mouth, west etc float your boat.

I had already rung the Golden cap site but they an not guarantee having 3 pitches together. Having 1 caravan makes it more difficult as not all sites have tents and vans next to each other.
That will be your main problem.
You could try Gwithian Farm, Hayle their caravan pitches end just where the tent pitches with EHU start, but they do get booked up early. They are very nice people and helpful and within a 10 minute walk across the dunes to one of the best beaches in Cornwall or alternatively next door is Churchtown Farm which has a more open and less formal setup and is even closer to the beach and has always seemed a little less busy.
Neither are massive sites are there any particular reasons why you need to be bang next to each other.
Though I suppose it does make putting the little ones to bed and socialising afterwards easier.
Yeah, golden cap does have tents next to caravan pitches but they allocate pitches as you arrive, you select the part of the site you want when you book but it's down to you to find a suitable pitch when you arrive. I was thinking about their additional tent field but I am guessing there is no electric hook up there. There were camper vans on there when we visited last July so it must be possible to get vehicles on there. At highlands end there are tent pitches on the ends of the caravan hard standing but there are also grass caravan pitches. Again though they probably can't guarantee 3 pitches together.
The site I have booked, parbola, near hayle has no dedicated pitches and they have a policy of not regimenting the site to rows of vans or tents, pitches are in woods or on fields, They are really friendly so give them a call, I am sure they would accommodate your needs. I have not been before so can't recommend it yet.
