I am looking at sites around Bala lake and quite like the look of this one (aswell as one or two others) Anyway, this one is a camping and caravanning club site, does that mean it is for members only?
I can't see any mention of seperate prices for members/non-members.
You can normally use C&CC sites as a non-member, but have to pay more, not sure how much though, something like £7 per night comes to mind. You can usually join the club onsite.
No... it doesn't mean members only. It will cost you a fair bit more though. If you do/or are considering doing more camping in the future, you should take a look at the Camping and Caravanning Club... it could save you a fortune. Well worth looking into, in my opinion.
I've just had a look at the website and think that just part of the site is reserved for camping and caravanning club members (I have seen something like this before on other websites). So I think you will be able to stay - just not in the c&cc area (I'm presuming you're not a member). Maybe there isn't a difference in price because only part of the site is c&cc.
Why not call and ask?.... looks a great site by the way!

Almost certain to be members' prices.
Non-members usually have to pay about 7.00 to 7.50 GBP per night extra as non-member's fee.
Depending on the length of stay, the total non-member's fee incurred could be as much as the annual membership fee for joining C&CC, and one may as well join, as one can then use all their sites without incurring extra charges.
That's how I ended up joining them a few years back.

If you mean the site in your link (Bwch Yn Uchaf Camping And Caravanning Park) it isn't listed as a Camping and Caravanning Club Site (not actually stayed there but it seems quite attractive, and handy for narrow-gauge steam, as it happens! ).
Looking on the Site's website, I realise what you were getting at
"The whole site...is made up of two defined areas:-
The first is a 3/4 acre Camping & Caravanning Club certificate site with 10 hook-up points. The pitches are level and partly sheltered, 7 of these are hard standing.
For campers wanting even more space and privacy the natural landscape breaks the site into several smaller areas (without hook-up) some adjacent to the river with an unobstructed view of the freshwater river. All pitches are level and most are partially sheltered.Bwch-yn-Uchaf - Click to enlarge [+]There are 3 hardstanding hook-up pitches and a further 4 hardstanding pitches adjacent to the river. There are additional toilet and water point facilities in this area. Fires are permitted subject to conditions in non hookup areas."
So part of the Site is a C&CC Certificated Site, which would require membership (though you can probably join on arrival), and the rest of it is open to members and non-members alike.
(...as rachntex said in an earlier post before I was awake! )
My post re: nightly non-member's fee refers to C&CC club sites.
I did not check the site mentioned in the original post for details before posting, oops. [:oops]
I have never stayed at one of their certified sites and cannot comment about their pricing structure.

Up until 2 years ago we were members of the C&CC for about 10years and in all that time have never been asked to show our membership. Only ever stayed on certificated sites though.

I have always been asked to show my membership card at every C&CC club site that I stayed in the past.
On one occasion, I did not have it on me, however, they managed to find my membership details on their system via my booking.

Yes we found that so cancelled our membership. Were only asked to show it once and that was on a site where caravans were clearly breaking the 28 day rule
