Just a quick question. I have been to this area many times, but not stayed at Field Barn Park before. I notice there's a map of the campsite on their website, but has anyone got any advice on which pitches are the nicest and why?
Thanks
Helen

Depends what you prefer... and the weather.
It was a bit breezy when we were there, but preferred to pitch along the top row (Pitch 24), looking down on the site, and the vista beyond.
Down in the dip would offer more shelter, but less views, and the very low numbers are against the high hedge, so well sheltered, but only looking back at the site.
Additionally, I think that top row we were on were probably amongst the biggest pitches, too.
We got this...
Whilst the view from the other side was more...
Even allowing for the elephant grass (I believe it is called?) being a lot taller now, as I know it is, I think pitch 24, and it's neighbours, would still offer a vista over and beyond the site.
Having said that though, because of our position, we also had to put up with this...
I know, I know... we've since got a better, nicer looking one... but it's still a windbreak!!
Thanks Mucker, nice view from the pitch you had. I think I might give this site a whirl. As for the windbreak, (I hope I don't start it all off again. 😉) but, I'm of the opinion that it's your pitch, if you put 1 or 6 windbreaks up that's fine by me. The only downside to that I couldn't nosey into your set up. Lol.
I stayed there in 2010 when the elephant grass was only knee high to a grasshopper and it was a nice site. The only downside if you walk into Bourton is that it is downhill all the way but uphill on the way back...certainly keeps you fit.
Was looking at this site after mentioned here. About to add to my favourites to look at later when I read 'adults only'. Looks lovely though... I fully understand about having a no children site.

Thanks for the replies, as we're a couple of oldies now, we just love the peace and quiet an adult site (usually has)
nothing against children have one of my own and 2 lovely granddaughters, just love peace without balls, bikes and screaming, lol.
