Hi all,

We will be buying a new tent soon to get back into camping , looking to go away probably in June it will be the first trip for our 8 month old twins so looking for a quiet site in peak district to see how they like it

Ideally a site where pitches not squashed up, I've seen a few when looking but they had bad reviews due to road noise or there over 18s only etc

Also a site where you can have a nice stroll someplace with the double pram

Preferably with ehu

Thanks

Most sites will suit children that young, I'd have thought. Not like they're running around yet and you want somewhere extra safe. Most sites have no noise after about 10 pm so they won't be kept awake. Road noise is unlikely to be much different to what you have at home. Some sites have big sinks in the washrooms specifically for bathing babies. I expect that you'll all have a wonderful holiday wherever you go, and meet plenty of nice people who are interested in your twins.

Maybe if you chose a site without the likes of clubhouses etc, should have quiet night after 10. You also might want to pick a site with a bathroom for the babies, rather that just showers. The site search should help. Enjoy your trip.

Camping and Caravanning Club sites have not only a no overnight noise policy, but also strictly adhere to a six-metres-between-units rule, so you could have a look at Hayfield, for example.

(Not been there, but have used a number of other C&CC Sites)

Not up North so I can't help - sorry.

However CW52 mentions baths. Quite a lot of sites seem to have family bathrooms. Some have baby baths and some have proper (family sized baths -in fact had 3 children in it and room for me too - though I didn't go in).

Thanks for the replies all,

I was mostly asking as the few sites I'd looked at in the area were either adult only or reviews said was traffic noise of wagons etc in night , we signed up as a member of camping and caravan club once at some show never used any of there sites though

What about Beech Croft Farm in the Peak District ?

Beautiful site, very quiet when we visited and has direct access onto the Monsal Trail for a stroll. Also has excellent facilities.

I was going to suggest Hayfield. Blissfully quiet at night, and a pleasant stroll along the river into the village which, iirc, should be easily manageable with a buggy.
