Over to you folks other half has told me that were we of to the lake district for summer hols !can any one recommend out of the many sites which one is best would like on site shop bar/restaurant, swimming pool no kids with us so one less thing to worry about.

Castlerigg hall, Keswick...all but no pool

Or, the camping / caravan club site at Keswick....liesure centre nearby

Swimming pools are alien to Lake District camp sites, there is an abundance of lakes in which to swim.

Great Langdale has more facilities than most or somewhere realy quite is Chapel Stile

The leisure centre in keswick is good cant think of any campsites with pools. You might want to avoid campsites with bars on site on the edges of the LD as they can be noisy and busy. The only issue with the one near Keswick is that it floods.

Try Stanwix Park Holiday Centre at Silloth, we`ve used this site a lot. Onsite shop, cafe, bars, swimming pools (inside and out), sauna etc.

Castle rigg hall is lovely bar and restaurant on site pub next door but not been in it and great views
