Hi,
I wondered if there were still any really cheap sites around that charge less than a tenner a night? We tend to pay around £20 a night when we go away, but we could pop away a lot more often if we could get some really cheap sites to stay at.

One of the Camping and Caravanning Club's Temporary Holiday Sites we've used for about five of the past six years will cost £11 per unit night this year (without EHU, which is optional subject to availability, but including the other facilities of the host commercial site) which I consider very good value.

You have to take the C&CC membership fee of around £40 into account, but membership means you can also take advantage of the Club's network of often basic, but almost always inexpensive, Certificated Sites.

you could possibly find a few amongst the club Certificated or listed sites but facilities will be just water in/out I guess. May get a toilet.

We've just been to Golborne Bridge Farm. it's a CS, lovely showers, plus usual amenities.
£8 per night, no EHU.

(I remember remarking to hubby that I genuinely think it's too cheap!)

near Chester, so not too far from you?

There are still lots of campsites charging around £10. You obviously have to search for them in the areas you want to go camping. You may find pub campsites often charge just a tenner or so per unit. They don't care how many people occupy the unit because the more bodies the more beer they are likely to sell.

There's a small site called Castle Camping at Mow Cop which charges £10.50 a night for pitch with EHU. 20 mins to the Peak District, 30 minutes Alton Towers etc.

It depends what you need I've recently found a place in Wilts that is 5 per night but no facilities for us that's fine for a weekend.

But for EHU and showers we tend to find it to be £12 mark.
