Hi,
apologies if there is already a discussion on this, i'm kind of new to it all. Looking for a nice family site in either Anglesey or Wales, criteria wld be:
Coastal, ie short walk to the beach
Local pub
Shop on site if possible or nearby is fine
Wifi (3 children who like the ipads a tad too much at night)
So many to choose from and i'm totally confused by them all, would like to go to one that has been recommended. Been to St David's in Red Wharf Bay (and Park Foot in Pooley Bridge) so these type of sites wld be good. Always fancied Abersoch but don't seem to be able to find one with availability over the next few weeks.
Help?!
Ps Would be in a 6 man tent with hookup.

Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
Here's a few we love and which are all reviewed on the UKC campsite search:
Dafarn Rhos nr Moelfre is a very pleasant site adjoining a lovely sandy beach. Pub and small shop in village and more in Benllech 2 miles away.
Ty Newydd Church Bay, Anglesey. Pub nearby but shops further away. A bit remote.
Aberafon Camp Site,Gyrn Goch, Caernarfon. Right by a stony beach with "views to die for". Not much in immediate vicinity but shops and pubs in Caernarfon and Conwy.
We have just stayed at Awelfryn at Newborough on Anglesey, it is a great little site and almost fits your criteria. Walk to one of the best beaches on Anglesey is about 30 minute walk, pub and shop in the village a 10 minute walk away , the site isn't completely covered by Wi-Fi, but there is wi-fi at the house and the kids can sit in the conservatory and use it, maybe a chance to compromise and wean them off a bit. Great views too.
Darfan Rhos is in a great location, but we found the owners a bit uppity and they have some of the strictest sets of rules I have ever encountered, we had a friend who was staying elsewhere on Anglesey come and pick us up and because we had a fair bit of fishing gear went to let him onto site, they wanted to charge us a day visitor fee for him to drive to our pitch and drive out again.
For Anglesey it's expensive, they charge for Wi-Fi and the kids wouldn't be included in the pitch fee. But the site is well kept and secure with keyfob entry.
If the proximity to the beach is crucial to you and you can put up with the foibles then it is OK, but we wouldn't ever stay there again.
Bodfan Farm at Rhosneiger again is great but won't tick all your boxes, no Wi-Fi(I have stayed on a fair few sites on Anglesey and few have had genuine site wide Wi-Fi), but loads of room for the kids to run around and play. about 10 mins walk to a brilliant beach, and on top of that it's cheap. The beauty of Rhosneiger apart from the fantastic beach is that the village has plenty there, a chippy, numerous places to eat, a couple of grocery stores and the usual seaside shops. Most other villages in Anglesey don't have much.
As you have found most of the Welsh mainland beach resorts are busy, whereas Anglesey is much quieter.
Maybe the solution to your Wi-Fi dilemma is to get a 3 or giffgaff(on o2) sim(check it will work there and buy an all you can eat data add on and let the kids tether to it.
Anglesey as you know is a wonderful place and well worth the visit especially if you get some decent weather.
