We've been to Naburn Lock. Enjoyed our stay especially catching the river boat down into York from near the site.

Yes lovely site, not sure if you are in the adult only area or you have children but either way it's a nice site,

The pub just along the road does lovely home cooked food, well it did when we were there, they are also very dog friendly if you have a dog.

If you don't want to use the car the buss goes from just outside the site into York quite regularly.

Someone was telling me about this site the other day and it looks lovely, I really fancy going some time. Does anyone know if they accepts tents. On UK campsite page its showing the tent symbol but yet on the website I cant see any mention of tents. Thank you.

We were booked on a rally there in September a few years ago. We were in York a few weeks beforehand and heard Naburn Lock was flooded so went to have a look. It was under about 4 feet of water. There was no way it would have been useable by September, especially if there had been any more rain. This year's been relatively dry so you should be OK.

We have been there when most of it was under water, The tent field was a lake.
The river doesn't flood very often I wouldn't let it put you off. It's a lovely site worth chancing it.

Thanks a lot, but not too sure if you're helping - I don't want to tell him he's right - totally goes against the grain!
Our elderly but dearly loved Autosleeper is rubbish on soft ground. I really don't want "told you so" when we are being towed out on departure, tee hee!

The top part of the site is fine. It isn't affected by the flooding. York CC site gets flooded now and again but it doesn't stop people going.

The environment agency keep watch on river levels and you will have plenty of time to move if flooding is iminent.
York floods at some point most years usually after weeks of rain. Its a nice site. Just go.
