I popped to Blakemere craft centre near Oulton Park and noticed that they have built a spanking new campsite there. Doesn't look like it's open yet as it was fenced off and diggers still there, but website is up and running.

They seem to have developed the village more recently, I used to think it was a bit poor.

A campsite in the vicinity closed for tourers not long ago, so at least this will replace it.

Ha no we won't be going there! A bit too close to home and familiar for me. It doesn't really compare to the Plassey, it would need a lot of investment in facilities and to the centre itself to bring it up to that level!

The site was originally due to open in May, but the time seems to have gradually got pushed further and further back. It does look like a lot of money is being spent on the facilities, landscaping and for caravan pitches.
