I feel that I can relate exactly to your situation.
We got our first van 2 years ago and also have a 4 year old. We signed up with the CC.
As newbies we liked that with the CC you feel absolutely assured, knowing exactly what to expect when you turn up at anyone of their sites : good facilities, hard-standing - easy to manoeuvre onto pitches (even without a mover), flat tarmac'd roads, play area for kids etc etc.. Their uniformity is both a statement and testament of their club standards.
We have though, two years on, decided not to renew our membership. Not knocking the CC at all, but having now the confidence to explore a little more, we much prefer scouting out those little gems of sites.
