I've organised well over 100 social events in London over the last 10 years for various social groups I belong to.
But over the last 2 years I've really come to love camping as I've taken up professional photography and been taking photographs at various holistic festivals.
I'd love to organise a camping event in London or somewhere super close to a train station near London as 99% of the people I organise evens for do not drive nor have a car.
Could anyone suggest some nice campsites for people that wish to sleep in tents and ideally have a camp fire at night that is in London or very close to a Tube or Railway Station.
Looking for maybe 20 to 30 people to come but if all goes well could become a yearly event over a weekend.

If it's Lee Valley camping site then location is probably quite good but it looks a bit too pristine, more of a grass venue then woods based on the photos I've seen of it.
I think a camp fire perhaps might be essential cos if you have 10 to 20 people then it's too many to gather in a tent, you'll have to be outdoors but without a fire at night it's going to be freezing cold.

I don't think any of the sites mentioned above would let you have open campfires, certainly CC&C and CC sites wouldn't. Have you tried the Scouting Association, they may know somewhere convenient for London?
