We have booked 2 weeks on a service pitch at Putts Corner caravan club site in Devon. Sounds a really nice site in easy reach of interesting places to visit. However been reading a few reviews that the services pitches are not as well laid out as the ordinary hardstanding pitches and are too cramped.
Has anyone been , seems pointless paying extra if the hardstanding are better. Thanks
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
We've stayed at Putts Corner quite a few times. It's a lovely site. If I remember correctly the service pitches are all together down one long section and do seem a bit cramped compared to the other standard hardstandings. The site is set out in small sections and we prefer to just choose whatever hardstanding is left. Waste and water is close by to most pitches anyway so that's never an issue for us.
Lovely pub within walking distance from the site and the wardens give you a discount card for meals there too. It'll be busy in August so suggest going mid week and booking a table.
Surrounding area is lovely too, plenty to do for those with transport!
Enjoy.
