Hi we are grandparents in our 60s and recently back to caravanning after many years away from it. we have promised to take our grandchildren aged 8 and 5 for a week with us in the school holidays and are needing recommendations of sites that have good play facilities, safe bike/scooter paths and are near to other child friendly activities. We live in Fife but 75 mile drive would be OK. Any ideas?

Being from Fife also, i was going to suggest Brighouse Bay in the south or Aviemore( either Rothiemurchus or Glenmore) in the north, but they are both more than 75 miles - we have enjoyed both in the past.

Nearer to home Sauchope links at crail has an outdoor swiming pool if you get some descent weather and Craigtoun at St Andrews is good.

Thanks for these suggestions. I will look them up. The reason for the 75 miles is that the kids will already have had a long drive before they get to us so will be a bit travel weary. Maybe Aviemore sounds great though.
