While reviewing sites wouldn't it be helpful to add the cost of stays as in the cost per day/night? just having got back from a tour of Lakes & Dales staying at eight sites in all, I was quite surprised at the difference in cost ranging from £10 - £29 pn. yes the tenner one was basic & the £29 was top notch I can understand that but if you did as I did & looked on this site for sites in the area you were planning to go next the cost might be useful, after all for all except one site we didn't mind where we were as long as we got the basics water electric & waste which about every site provides anyway.
------------- It felt good......so I dun it! I'm not old I'm .........forgot what I was gonna say.
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
Minefield!
The reviews pages on here take it about as far as is practical. Reviews, a description of the site, location, icons for facilities, and of course, if it has one, a link to the camp site's website and direct contact details.
Prices could be a full page on it's own, and even then, trying to keep that up to date would be a nightmare for admin, I would have thought.
As you've witnessed, site prices vary massively, and so do their pricing structure.
Per pitch or per person? Min number of nights? Extra for awnings/large tents/Dogs/Children/additional car etc, etc?
EHU or non-EHU? Grass/Hardstanding/AWP? Standard, Jumbo, or fully serviced pitch? Sea view? Adult only/Quiet section? Special offers for age or extended stays? Member or non-member?
High, low or mid season rate? Weekend or week day?
The list is endless, or at least can be, at some sites.
Sometimes, we just have to do a little work/research ourselves!
Find a site that at least appears to be "your kind of site" (from the excellent UKCS pages) then click on that website link and/or make that 'phone call, to get the accurate, up to date, confirmed price to suit your needs, family and set up... Straight from the horses mouth!
The last thing UKCS need is for folk moaning that their "prices page" is out of date or misleading in any way. That would be rather unfair on admin, I'd say.
That's the beauty of a "one click link"!!
Prices are constantly changing and, as Mucker shows, there are so many variables it's difficult to compare like with like.
It would be great to have a calculator to refine search results but for now I think it has to be trusty pen and paper and a few hours of research. Great excuse to sit down with a drink and do some browsing. Half the fun is finding the hidden gems.
Or I think the C&CC have a price calculator, but then that limits you to only their sites.
Thanks guys, great comments, but yes I was just suggesting a price paid with the review, as I said I got on line & checked sites in the area I was looking at. I think I might have opened my mouth before I put my brain in gear!, as Mucker says there are so many variables to this plus when I looked back at reviews most of the previous ones are one two or three years old.

As much as I would love to spend hours researching the different prices/pricing structures of the hundreds of sites in the different areas of the UK I would like to visit, I simply don't have the time so for me, zzcharlie's suggestion would be a huge benefit.
Not all sites listed on UKCS have a website and not all websites have prices so even an estimate of the cost would be better than nothing and it would save me wasting time researching sites I can't afford
thats be honest, when we do a review is it going to be so hard to put the price per night, or stay.
Not really, i will start doing it in future for one.
