I'll be visiting family around the Glasgow area and once that visiting is done I'd like to spend some time camping. I'm looking to tour around within 50-75 miles of Glasgow. I love seeing the sea so I'm looking for campsites with sea views. Inland I'm happy for anywhere with a great view. I'd prefer to avoid sites that are too commercialized or too busy and tent only sites would be particularly welcome but I'm open to all suggestions. Following this I'll be returning to the West Mids and I'm happy to take my time so anywhere that can be recommended as a stopover or two would also be very welcome.
Cheers
Ed.

Not sure if these are within range, actually, but I stayed at a site at Portnadoran somewhere on the road to the isles, also at Camusdarach, with the sea nearby. The latter did not actually have sea views but it was a very short walk to the beautiful white sand beach, one of the ones used in 'Local Hero'. Tayvallich in Knapdale was close to the water too, can't recall much else about it though.

Nice site at Moffat for a night or two on your way back down. Not too far from M74. Lovely place.

Witches Craig near Stirling, sitting under the Ochils. Has covered tables in the tent area.
Kintyre is more than 50 miles, it's a bit of a trek there & back; our favourite sites are at Machrihanish and the more expensive Carradale. Arran is a great destination, ferry trip is relatively cheap now the Road Equivalent Tariff RET came in, leaves from Ardrossan. How about Culzean CCC site in Ayrshire, by the Country Park with lovely sunsets, or Thomaston Farm CS overlooking Culzean with views from Ireland through Arran & Jura to the Arrochar Alps. Head home through Dumfries & Galloway - the CCC site at Moffat is fine if you're going down the M74, but what was formerly called Glenmidge is a lovely quiet site near the A76 to Dumfries with red squirrels. There are quiet coastal sites in D&G too - we like Sandyhills Bay, a low key site on the Solway with a lovely beach.

Witches Craig would be an ideal starting point, only about 35 miles from Glasgow.
