Last year you guys helped us with our first ever camping trip, which was to Outer Hebrides. Lots of rain and wind but we survived!
We are on holiday next two weeks and want to take the tent away again but also take our black lab. So maximum journey about 2 hours from Glasgow, want electric hook up and preferably near the coast for lots of walking.
Any suggestions? The weather forecast will definitely have a factor in the final decision but when we got the tent I pictured myself sitting outside it, with my glass of red in hand, enjoying the sunshine whilst the steaks cooked on the BBQ. Zero out of 3 so far.......
Thinking of maybe Lake District - never been before? Also maybe a site with some luxuries like local dog friendly pub, maybe even a swimming pool (not for the dog).
Would appreciate any thoughts and thanks for taking the time to read this!
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
If this weather does come in you will not get better than, Kings Green Caravan Site at Port William Dumfries and Galloway.
Does not have the swimming pool but it does have Luce Bay at your feet.
Culzean C&CC site near Ayr or the nearby Thomaston Farm site (a CS but they don't ask for proof of membership). Sandyhills Bay near Dalbeattie or Brighouse Bay or Solway View near Kirkcudbright. Kintyre sites - plenty by a beach (though Carradale is cheaper if you're a caravan club member, need a mortgage if not); we like Machrihanish.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
