At the risk of Webby or Ratty asking if I have looked in the campsite directory , has anyone been to Brokerswood and what is it like? Only two reviews, one old and one recent although the review date says July 2005? Looks nice on their website and not too far from Bristol, but your comments would be appreciated.
We thought Brokerswood was a bit expensive for what you get. We haven't stayed there but we live just down the road.
The attraction for us would have been the fishing but we decided against staying there. (The fish weren't all that special). The other drawback would be the day visitors wandering all over the place.
When we had a look a couple of years ago, we weren't too impressed by the facilities but they may have improved them by now.
Thanks Anne, hadnt thought about the day visitors side of it. I think we might give it a go because we have young kids, but never heard of this park so not sure about it at the moment. I'm really interested in sites within a couple of hours from Bristol at the most.
I think the kids would love it because there is quite a lot for them to see and they could run around in the woods. Be careful of the lake though, the woods open straight on to it at a couple of points.

Stayed in the CL part of the site which turned out to be on the edge of the car park so we had cars coming and going within inches of our van. Even had somone pressing their nose to the window !!!! However when the park closed it was very peaceful with nice walks. They did have a large field away from the car park that we wished we were on ... but we had foolishly belived that the CL pitches would be 'prime'.
Hi campinggirl29 .... a cl is part of the Caravan club ....... Brokerswood have 5 pitches in a small area (next to the main camping area and the day vistors area) and they are slightly cheaper
Was there at the beginging of the month ....... as a day vistor .... there are signs saying No day vistors beyond this point ....... all a tad open at the mo, due to lack of leaves on the trees lol
Super play areas for the children, and some lovely walks thro the woods .... look out for the little 'Teletubby mound' and the 'tree' where Alice chased the white rabbit - lots of adventures to be had
Nice little shop for holiday pressie's .... and a small cafe
Hope you have a good time
