Hi para,
Just be aware (you don't mention if you have kids ) ,The Run to the Sun goes to Newquay in the summer. I believe ,usually in August and many of the participants use sites other than the main one .Might be worth checking those dates and also prebooking well in advance.
If you are doing the M6/M5 route ,you could use The Tudor in Gloucestershire.Fairly near the motorway and roughly halfway.
Its next to Slimbridge wildfowl Trust and the Sharpness canal.
This is assuming it's not the Welsh Newquay.
