No petting zoo or anything but we first took our grandson when he was just under 3 to Loch Ken campsite in Dumfries and Galloway. Lovely site. The camping field is a big open field with great views. I'll never forget that first time when we let Grandson out the car and he just ran and ran. Oh the freedom - he thought we were letting him run free when in fact we could see every move he was making from the tent pitch. We've been a few times since and there are always other kids for him to run about with (he's now 5). Site is on the edge of a loch so lots of paddling, fishing, boating etc. Great views.
