Hello campers

I have been to Stonethwaite camping for many years now and absolutely love it. Open fires, small walk up for a swim in the river, quick drive into Keswick the list goes on. I was wondering if anyone familiar with Stonewaite know of any other campsites similar to it as I will be getting a few trips in this year and would like to switch it up a bit. Any help would be appreciated cheers

Stonethwaite holds many old memories for me, such as the time the stream overflowed early in the morning and the time we came back from the Scafell Bar about midnight to find that the ridge pole on my Force 10 had broken in the gale.

There used to be several sites like that in the area but unfortunately most of them have now either closed or been commercialised.
