Hi we are having 2 weeks away with our 3 kids aged 5, 11 and 17. We are willing to travel anywhere in Uk we are currently based in Lancashire.
The problem is we all want different things. We need good internet for our eldest. My hubby likes plots that have a bit iofprivacy such as a little fence or hedge although this isn't a deal breaker. I like a pool although not essential but would be good since we are going last week in June 1st week in July if we have poor weather. We like yo ride our bikes but need flat ground as our youngest has s special needs bike.
We also like to eat out at least one meal a day at family restaurants such as Frankie and Bennys, Brewster etc.
We had s good time in Wales last year and there was loads of family days out but we struggled with internet and restaurants.
I would be really grateful if anyone could recommend anywhere. We are travelling with 3 children with Autism so the kids like a plan in advance. Thanks
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
A suggestion for an area to look at would be around Great Yarmouth. Norfolk is quite flat (good for bikes) and it's an area which has the least rain fall in the Country. By staying around Great Yarmouth there are plenty of eating places / pubs etc. You aren't to far from the city of Norwich which has a good shopping area and a castle to visit. I can't recommend a specific site as we have always stayed in North Norfolk but we have family who live just outside of Norwich so we have visited them over the years.
I hope i have given you a starting point.
Another one for North Norfolk, we have been to Kelling HeathKelling Heath. It does have privacy if you pick the right plots, it has a free outdoor pool and a chargeable indoor pool, although there is a fun wave pool in nearby sherringham. The site is big as it also has lodges etc but very flat for riding round on bikes and has a little railway station on site that you can take your bikes on to Sherringham. There isn't wifi around the park but there is in the centre and restaurant/bar which is free. There is a restaurant on site and pizza shop, not many chain restaurants locally but lots of pubs restaurants that are child friendly. The have a little bandstand outside reception where they have music in the evening next to the table tennis/bowling and the important wifi, so you can grab a drink while the kids play. Other option we had a lovely time on the Isle of Wight at [URL=http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/details.asp?revid=1707]Ninham[/URL, Wifi in the tv/games room where the older kids/teens hang out in the evening, outdoor pool, lots of family restaurants around, nice flat disused cycle track, although a little less private pitches. Hope that helps.
Kelling Heath campsite is great for woods, pool, onsite pizza place and other catering, but it is four and a half miles from Sheringham which has precisely no familiar chain restaurants. It does have fish and chips, family orientated cafes etc, though. 4 or 5 miles away is Holt which has 2 chip shops, (good), an Indian, a takeaway kebab shop and some upmarket restaurants. Lovely part of the world, but a good old drive from Lancaster. And the N Norfolk coast has a very patchy phone signal.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
