Hi there,
Looking for a bit of advice....thinking about going to Crowden Camp site for weekend getaways as it's close to home. It's linked to Camping & Caravanning Club but says non-members are welcome.
I know it's £38 to join, but having been on their website I can't figure out what the costs are, either as a member or non-member.
Could anyone explain how this works before we commit to joining?

Hello Chizzi.
The Crowden site is somewhat short on the information regarding the costs.

According to the website, this is what they state:-

"Campsite prices will vary depending on the time of year, site, length of stay, pitch type, membership status and the number of people in your party. Until the booking is confirmed by pressing ‘Book now’ or agreeing to the booking with the Club representative in the Contact Centre or at a Club Site, all Prices are for guidance only."

The Club Pricing Guide states:-

"The information below is a guide. If you want to find out the price of your potential camping holiday, please use our online booking system to select your site and suggested dates - this will give you an accurate price for your stay."

So there you have it. Sorry I could not find the specific information either.

Like the poster above says, the only way you will find out the price is by using the online booking system, and then if you don't like the price, don't press the Book Now button. Time consuming, but it is the way the C&CC decided to go with their pricing system about 4 years ago, rather than doing the traditional low, mid and high season prices. There is an additional fee per night for non-members over and above the pitch fee, so if you intend to be a regular user of C&CC sites, it will work out cheaper to become a member.

I might just try phoning to find out non member and members price. All a bit confusing for me! You'd think it would be a simple process, wouldn't you?
