Can anyone recommend a campsite on a river in the Welsh English borders? Seen a few but they all seem very pricey. Family of 4 - looking for quietish campsite - no evening ents thanks, but reasonable facilities (showers) on the banks of the river would be good. Kids would like to go out in the canoe.
All ideas gratefully received.
Thanks

Thanks Sean, what a fabulous sounding site. Will check distances as it looks well worth the extra journey time and if nothing crops up on the borders this will be the one.
Thank you for such a great recommendation.

Thanks - Dol Llys looks beautiful too and I'll search in Chepstow area, unless anyone knows the name?
Looks like driving further west will give us what we're looking for.
Thanks for the suggestions.

This is near Brecon . I'm not sure if it's suitable for boats but there is a river . It's next to caravan club site . Nice location .

There are a couple of sites near Shrewsbury Shropshire. One in Melverley,Church house campsite, and one in Crewe Green, Brook house. Both are right next to the river. Have a look on the campsite search.
Don't know if this has come to late for you , as well as a camper I'm a keen kayaker and I'm regularly going down the River Wye , it's one of the most beautiful trips you can take by canoe/kayak,
C&cc site at Rhandirmyn .
Stunning location . A bit remote but gorgeous .
We have towed our van there a long time ago but the road puts us off towing there now
