Bought caravan (1st in 15years!) got it all sorted - booked into site, booked events, booked house/pet sitter & feeling fantastic, last minute.., NO PET/HOUSE-SITTER means no events , no holiday, lost deposits GGRR ... So now I AM GOING TO TAKE HUBBY ON ANNIVERSARY JOLLY, come hell or high water I want to get some use out of the £k's we spent on the caravan so CAN YOU HELP?? Can you RECOMMEND A PLACE WITHIN ONE OR TWO HOURS OF BERWICK, MUST HAVE EHU, PREF WITHIN A FEW MILES OF A VILLAGE OR TOWN. SOMEWHERE PEACEFUL FOR 2 ADULTS ON THEIR WEDDING AVVIVERSARY at back end October, any advice or suggestions would be very much appreciate. Please NO tight turns or narrow lanes. Thank you.
------------- everybody loves a smile 😁
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
Linwater Caravan Site, about an hour and a half away.
Nice and quiet, about 2 miles from pub and restaurant on the canal side at Ratho, 2 miles the other way to pubs and sops in East Calder or another 3 miles to the huge Livingston retail centre.
Just down the road is a park and ride where you can get a bus into Edinburgh.
Can you not get another pet/house sitter? Plenty of companies doing it. Maybe someone on here would do it.
As for a site 2 hours from Berwick you could try Hawes or Leburn CC sites. Lovely locations and walking. Or Cote Gyll at Osmotherley.

I've sorted pet/house sitter, unfortunately it was beyond our or the sitters control, we didn't find out until half ten the night before..but never read the message till early next morning when leaving to collect the sitter. That was for earlier this month, but all back in control now.
I'll have a look at the sites you recommended, I want to organise this without hubby knowing til the last minute...make up for his birthday trip not happening ! Thanks for the advice 👍🏻🙂

Oooh I've just had a look, first time I've ever seen a camp site get 10/10 ! Top contender so far, thanks ever so much for the recommendation.

You're most welcome, let me know if you book.
It really is a fab site, if you're bringing the dog, there's an onsite dog walking area too.
Dalston caravan park just outside Carlisle (not Dalston leisure park which is nearby) - adults only, unless static folk bring visiting children, but it's not encouraged. Huge dog walk on the former golf course, the washrooms are excellent - a room with walk in shower, toilet & sink. Wee bar in what was the former golf club house. And the friendliest family running it. Cycle track into Carlisle.
A day of all things motorhome and campervan. The show is held both in the main indoor arena and across the grounds. Catering, hot drinks and food options are available. Easy access to the site and free parking included. Win one of five pairs of day tickets
