I only wish that the speed limit rules on sites was enforced more regularly and sternly. The speed that some people drive (often with kids of their own) is really frightening at times. We have a 7 year old and 4 year old just starting to enjoy a little bit of independence on sites and speeding is an extra worry.
Before anyone suggests my kids should be on leads they are genuinely (yes really) very well behavedand have the site rules plus our own rules enforced on them!
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
i,m afraid this is all part of the isis effect ,in the last 2 or 3 years the terror attacks abroad and the cancelling of some tourist destinations has led to to a boost to our home grown touring industry ,look at the price of caravans for a starter ,even used ones are fetching silly money ,then look at the price some camp sites are charging per night <and i might add getting > also the the relevant prices in popular areas ,i live within easy reach of snowdonia and anglesey for instance but theres no way i would holiday there due to costs its cheaper to go to the other side of the country in most circumstances .
the site owner from west wales who posted here earlier when i checked his web site as its in range ,i found that the prices remain static through the year .surely a seasonal price drop would bring in more business ..
anyway going off track now ,the problem is that lots of people are now buying caravans as its safer and often cheaper than a package holiday ,but they seem to think that the campsites and there facilities belong to the all inclusive package holidays schemes ,i.e drink all day and let the kids run riot
Well said Black Fox, could not agree more. I have said many times people and some of their kids just don't understand we don't all want to be awake at midnight listening to their party cos they have been on the booze all day. The advent of 8 berth tents for a couple of hundred pounds was the start of it.
I just wish some clever bugger would print a book of sites where it's not allowed, they say no noise after 10 or what ever but it's not enforced, I am very disalusioned with campsites in the UK, all I want in space, quiet, a good shower, and a freezer for the cool blocks, Big ask I know.

Lots of Hippos in our town centre! Usually clustered around Greggs or Mac Ds
We got visited by Kangaroos and Cockatiels on sites in Australia, Skippy managed to pull hookup cable out!
They are great, not bothered by people.
Cockatiels are noisy and do leave their calling cards everywhere!
Also had a 3 foot goanna wandering under our table and chairs while we were sitting outside!
Fortunately no snakes! Did see a couple at safe distance.

OT, but Australia just has to be the best camping/touring destination in the world. I would love to join the silver nomads on an 18 month tour, we have used campsite cabins quite a bit in Oz and spoke to quite a few people on tour. They all seem very content with their lives.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
