I am looking for a touring site to stay on that has bus/train/tube links into London within walking distance. Apart from Crystal Palace (we know Crystal Palace area as used to live there, but husband does not want to take caravan to that area) is there another site up to an hours transport journey away that can be recommended please?

We are members of the c&cc club, but not caravan club.

We will have two young children with us, but not have use of the car in the day.

Travelling from Gloucestershire initially.

Looking for recommendations - Thank You

Theres a c&cc site at Chertsey which would probably be ideal for you. I’ve not used it for a few yrs but there should be up to date reviews in campsite search.

I would heartily recommend the Hertford C&CC site, which is very close to the town, but right in the countryside. Two rail lines into London. Hertford North into Kings Cross or Hertford East into Liverpool Street, both around 50 mins to 1 hour into London.

The site is beautiful, very spacious, and the pitches are informal. I have been there several times for rallies etc, despite the fact that it is only 10 minutes drive from home.

Best Regards,
Colin

The CMC site at Abbey Wood is near good transport links but it is the furthest side of London from you.
