Rhydywernen near Brecon? Not particularly quirky but allows fires and is by a lovely river and in a great area. Look at the reviews.

Hi Princess, Hedgehog Corner Camping near Lyme Regis sounds as though it might suit you though I don't know it personally - it's adult only and has decent modern facilities and a campers kitchen , and fires in fire pits are allowed but not directly on the grass - have a look at the website and read the reviews on here and see what you think. But it's right on your three hour driving limit.
And I hope your wedding goes really happily.

Windmill Campersite on the Isle of Wight is within your 3 hours if you time the crossings right.

We love the New Forest, plenty of campsites to choose from. If you like cycling, walking, wildlife, horse riding, nice pubs etc you can't go wrong. Also not too far from some lovely beaches. You'd be there in around 45 mins - 1 hour - M4, through Basingstoke, M3, M27 (we go that way from Stokenchurch)!! We love Long Meadow campsite in Brockenhurst. Best wishes for your wedding, hope you have a lovely day xx

Blackberry Wood campsite on the South Downs has an adult only site on the other side of the road. You get your own little glade or clearing, surrounded by bushes and trees and can see no other tents. You have to take your stuff to the pitch by wheelbarrow but I didn’t find that a problem. You can have a campfire in your glade.
Tne shower is outdoors... you get privacy , it is totally screened, but no roof.
Facilities are basic, not posh.
Beautiful walking with views from Ditching Beacon etc.

I can't offer you advice on campsites as I live nowhere near Reading, but I wish you all the best.
We had a camping honeymoon many years ago; just touring around the coast of Devon and Cornwall; beautiful.------------- wildaboutwalking on wordpress

It's their honeymoon. They might not leave the tent much!
Lovely idea though. ------------- 2026: 6 sites / 13 nights. 2025: 13/27. 2024: 20/41. 2023: 9/23. 2022: 13/35. 2021: 11/29. 2020: 4/20. 2019: 13/35. 2018: 20/33. 2017: 10/22. 2016: 19/33. 2015: 15/27. Didn't count sites/nights 1976 to 2014.
