I really want to go here, not bothered about the hill up to it, but Hafodty Lane looks very narrow. Does anyone who has been here know the length of the lane and did you experience any problems? Any advice on alternative sites with good access?

A bit further South, but still within easy reach of Colwyn Bay and Bodnant Gardens, Conwy, and the Snowdonia national park, and situated overlooking the estuary with stunning views is Conwy Tourist Park.

We used to be regular visitors when our children were at home, and my Youngest daughter still tent camps there sometimes. It has a onsite Shop and Bar, and is cut into terraces on a hillside, with fairly flat and level pitches. There are also a few CLs in the area, but tbh, we havent been for a couple of years as we feel we have just grown tired of the area and have seen all and done all there is to see after many years of regular visits.

Thanks Julia, don't really want to be on the Conwy side as we may well have problems with the arches, we have a big caravan.

No need to use the arches if you follow the Bodnant signs off the A55 and take the second estury bridge crossing over the river Conwy. It avoids the Conwy town centre entirely whilst towing, and the lane is not too bad upto the site either, we have done it many times without a problem, even with a larger caravan on the back, but if its still not the area you fancy, then Good Luck in finding the right site for you, and l hope that you have a lovely holiday.

That part of the coastline has its fair share of Static caravan parks, but is indeed rather lacking in Touring pitches until you go further south or inland and into the Snowdonia National park area.

We were at New Farm last week. It's address is Wrexham but is halfway between Wrexham and Chester. I've done a review which you can have a look at.
There is no website link on here but if you google you'll find it.
Follow the owner's driving instructions avoiding a narrow road and it's very easy
Not coastal but llanglollen is nearby and quite a few NT properties. 20 minute drive to Chester Park and ride.
Bargain at 12 per night (plus electric)

Thanks, we know that area, went to college in Wrexham and have stayed at sites at Llangollen, Chester (twice) and Ruthin. I would like to go to New Farm but OH is not keen on going back to anywhere near Wrexham.

stayed here many times in the past, yes lane is narrow but no problem even for very large vans. it is not a long lane and does not see much traffic. on the plus side the views are great.
