Hi there I'm looking for a campsite near aviemore with a park right next to the camping area. Thanks for your help.

What kinda park? There’s rothiemurchus site, totally surrounded by the rothiemurchus forest, it’s like a huge park! And the site itself is lovely , tent area runn8ng by a wee river if I recall. Lots of outdoorsy stuff round about if that’s the kinda park you like.

There is also glenmore 8 miles outside aviemore, it’s good too, close by outdoor centre and direct access to the beach at Loch morlich. Cairngorm right there too.

Dunno, maybe you mean a playpark?

Yeah they sound really nice. But yeah I'm keen to camp somewhere near aviemore where there is a play park in view of tent

Not really play park country because the woods & loch shores are a natural playground. I don't remember one at the 3 sites I've stayed at (Glenmore, Dalraddy, High Range; we can't stay at Rothiemurchas because we have a dog).
For maximum access to nature, go to Glenmore or Rothiemurchas.
If you want to watch your children play on swings, but still be in the Highlands, hava a look at Blair Castle & other sites around Pitlochry like Faskally.

Just an aside...Fiona, we have stayed at rothiemurchus with our 2 dogs in early December I think. Had a really good enclosed off lead area for them too. Aren’t they allowed now?

I too a bit confused with this - friends with motor-home staying at Rothiemurchus next month with dog. Thought it was only the tent camping area where no dogs allowed?

OP, agree with others, this is not a play park with swings and slides area - there's so much to do available in the natural surroundings, even for little ones. All our main holidays when I was a kid were at Glenmore. Started from sandcastles on the beach through building dams with other kids at the age of four to getting to the top of the Cairngorm at 5 under my own steam - no road, ski-lift or funicular then.

Unless you have specific reasons (which I understand you may have but might not wish to post) for wanting a play park in such a natural playground, be a little bit adventurous.

Landmark is good, even for little kids.

We looked at staying at Rothiemurchus when we had a campervan - dogs ARE allowed in the campervan/motorhome area, but not in the camping area.

A pity, as we are now under canvas, and I would like to stay there.

Regarding the OP - go for Glenmore; the beach on the shores of Loch Morlich is stunning, and just a short wander through trees away from the campsite. The kids will love it!

Thanks to several of you for the Rothiemurchas clarification. I knew either the tent site or the MH site was "no dogs" - no idea why the estate has 2 different policies.

I never got the answer either, Fiona W when we last wanted to stay in a tent, but had a dog - went for Loch Morlich, although not awfy happy with location of pitch the last twice. Basic tenters don't bring in enough dosh!

Glenmore at Easter last year - the most I have ever paid per night. Stunning spot though.

Used to be £5 (old money) a night for a van plus family of four plus dog - how things change!
