Hi

I’m looking for a small campsite in the Lake District for next year . We’d like showers & electric but as it’ll just be the two of us we don’t need anything else. We’d like to be within a 15 min drive if either Keswick or Windermere although not essential - South lakes ideally .

Any recommendations would be great

Thanks

Burns Farm at Threlkeld, about 5-10 minutes drive from Keswick.

The Derwentwater C&CC Site is small, has excellent showers and toilets and is a 5 minute walk from the centre of Keswick.

Gill head farm. 15 mins from Keswick. EHU and showers. Can get busy but they have a very strict 10pm quiet time. Also if you book early enough they have a private field near a stream and small waterfall. You can't park your car their as it's down a little track about 50 meter walk but is very nice if you don't want kids running around. Camp fires allowed with firepit hire and wood available to buy. We visited 4 weeks ago.

I like Castlerigg Hall and Castlerigg Farm sites. There are good walks from these sites and you can walk into Keswick alongside a river. The walk from these sites to Ashness Bridge is one of my favourites.

Dalebottom?

Five minutes outside Keswick, at the foot of High Rigg, very quiet, stunning location.
