Hi , we have a site booked in Ullswater end of July but hubby wants to move on to a site near Wasdale head after that so can anyone recommend a site that is easy to get to towing large tourer, dog friendly , doesn't have to be cc site. Many thanks.

The nearest site which takes caravans is The Old Post Office, not been but there are 78 reviews on here. The sites at Wasdale Head only accept tents and motorhomes.
Yes the Old Post Office at Santon Bridge is the nearest site that takes caravans, it's around 6 miles from Wasdale Head or 3 miles from the start of the lake.
A couple of things, make sure your satnav doesn't try and send you over Wrynose and Hardknott pass to get there and also make sure you go to Gosforth bakery - amazing pies!
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
