Im planning on going camping soon and was wondering
what you have to do when you arrive at the site(i booked online), do you have to sign in somewhere or...?
Ive never gone camping on my own so sorry if its a noob question thats already been answeard somewhere

Apart from signing in at the reception is there other ways to sign in?
like does someone go round the sit withe a clipboard?
As you booked online, I’d expect the confirmation email to say what you should do. I’m guessing, if it’s a pop up, there’ll be a designated hut or caravan etc to go to, where of course you’ll put on your mask and scoosh your hands. All your track & trace details are in your booking, you shouldn’t need to sign anything. I haven’t touched pen, paper, or cash since Covid. Even previously locked facilities doors are propped open now. And my recent site wasn’t even taking the £20 deposit to borrow the tv freesat box.
If there’s nothing in the confirmation email, there’ll be a notice at the gate advising you what to do. Just relax & enjoy your trip.
I'm not so sure there is any such thing as a 'standard' protocol for booking in, the big clubs have their formal procedure of report to reception first, but in part that is because you cant get past security barriers without a pass key.
Private sites vary, again often depending on whether there is any secured entry barrier, and if they allocate your pitch or you choose your own. Not unknown for open access and owner/manager to wander around occasionally to see who's turned up and pitched then do the formalities of checking if you've booked/paid etc.
As previously suggested, if no obvious reception point, ask another camper before pitching.
