Hi I’m
New to the site. Im looking for affordable holidays for me and my children they have asked to go camping but I’ve only been once before when I was married in a big group so I have absolutely no clue how to erect a tent and my kids are young / eldest autistic is there any campsites in the North Yorkshire area which do ready erected tent hire?

Have a look at the Ready Tents at Camping and Caravanning Club's club sites in the area to see if they suit.
It is worth joining the club as you will benefit by saving the nightly non-member's fee if you go for week or so.
Ready tents will cost more than camping in your own outfit, however, it saves forking out money to buy camping gears to see if you and your kids would catch the camping bug.
Enjoy your trip.

As for putting up the tent - there are plenty of youtube videos which show you how to erect tents and if you buy a tent you may find one for the specific tent you have bought. If you have a garden and its large enough you can practice putting up the tent before you go (and its a way of checking nothing is missing) and you have a couple of young eager helpers to assist you. If all else fails - campers are a friendly bunch and you will not have problems finding others willing to help.

I've camped at Baxby Manor https://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/details.asp?revid=12061 with my children (including aspie teenager boy) and found it lovely and friendly and very family oriented. They have glamping huts which might be a good way to try camping. I have a friend who's children have quite severe autism and they couldn't cope with the fact that the walls move in a tent.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
