It seems my decision to switch to a van with her own onboard facilities in early 2020 was very timely.
After my last planned and pre-booked trip in October 2021, I shall play it by the ears and watch the weather forecast more closely, with the aim to get up and go if it is dry with only light winds.
There are a number of camp sites that are open all year round within an hour's drive from me which will suit nicely.
Still hoping to go back to Dorset for a few nights between the BHs at the end of the year, as Sandbanks will be opened in its entirety for dogs!

Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
We’ve been to 12 sites this year and all of them apart from 2 that don’t accept tents anyway, have had tent campers.
All had rules in place and hygiene was good. All required or asked for masks be worn in the facilities and some restricted numbers allowed in at one time. This had been followed by most people but since the easing on so called ‘freedom day’ this has been getting less well observed. Apart from that I’ve not really had any issues and the time I’ve spent outdoors has been wonderful.
We have used pubs but mainly those with outdoor space or screens still up inside. I’ve felt safer in many than on our High Street which is heaving with tourists, or the local supermarket where more and more people have stopped wearing masks.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
