Hi everyone, my name is Valerie and my DT project is based around outdoor eating. I would very much appreciate if you could spare a couple of minutes to answer a short questionnaire to help me with my project. Please only answer if you have experience with camping.
Many Thanks,
Valerie

As well is two words!

Thanks for the link.
Ok, I did the survey but but I don’t think it will help your project as much as trying various ways of cooking outdoors yourself. No mention of washing up: more pan scrubbing if you’ve cooked over a smoky wood fire than on an electric hob.
The only improvement I could think of, over what we have, was to hire a chef. That probably doesn’t count….
I think the problem is that students seem to assume camping is still a very basic / primitive pastime, when in fact camp cooking and dining is whatever you want it to be.

You're quite correct there, for many years we've had a full roast Sunday dinner (with roast spuds and Yorkshire pud) for around 10 of us from a couple of suitcase stoves and a covered gas BBQ used as an oven. The trick was to take with us from home frozen mostly pre-prepared ingredients and basically use the stove/oven for reheating!
Others may struggle to cook sausage and baked beans on the same kit!
Oh yes, we were in tents and on a basic pop-up camp site in France.
We've also had freshly made Lasagne, Pizza and other similar dishes with our more recently acquired Kampa camping oven.
The survey doesn't really allow for a full range of answers that convey the wide scope of camp cooking, and may indeed give a false impression.
My stepson, who has a basic campervan and mainly wild camps, gave us an interesting gadget for Christmas 2020, having found one very useful himself - a Monkey Grill. It looks like a sandwich iron but with flat plates, and we were more amused than anything having the usual Cadac etc. But in a rainy, windy week in Devon it came into its own as we cooked in our moho's petite kitchen, doing everything from steaks to full English ! It was easy to wash up too
