I feel that I am going around in circles here, what with looking at reviews and searching a number of different websites (including, of course, this one). So I hope that some of you lovely people can help.
I am looking for a site for 5 - 7 nights in September. We would like to be within walking distance of some kind of habitation and, ideally, have access to the coastal path. We have a caravan and 2 dogs. Although we would prefer access to a toilet, we prefer smaller, quieter sites and have little need for a range of facilities and activities.
Anywhere from Charmouth to Lyme Regis. So far all the sites near the coast seem to be large, all singing, all dancing with lots of statics.
Any ideas please?

Seadown in Charmouth seems to fit your bill, yes it has statics, but its not comercialised at all, apart from a shop, you can walk into lime regis on the beach, except high tide.
theres another across the main road in charmouth, and a large one around the corner
Thank you Dave and Cyn. We are CAMC members, but the CLs that I have found have all been too far inland and more isolated than we would like. Are there any that you can specifically recommend?

I've sent an enquiry to Seadown, as the location looks right for us. Thank you G#Winger. They are closed until next week, but fingers crossed. They also seem to do a special deal out of season.

Thanks folks! We have now booked a week at Seadown in September. Their prices (in the light of other threads on these pages) seem quite reasonable - £25 per night outside high season, with no additional charges for awnings or dogs.
We've now got a break in April (husband's 70th), I'm going to Petra with a friend in May; we have 3 weeks in France in June and now a week in September on the Jurassic Coast. Sorted!!

We had a week in Jordan in 2017, with a couple of days at Petra. It should be much quieter this year due to Covid, so you’ll be able to appreciate it at your own pace.
We spent a week at Seadown at the end of August last year; our first trip out in our campervan. It was fine. Close to river, sea with one of the beaches dig-friendly. A short walk into Charmouth with its shops, pubs etc, (though worth booking in advance if you want to eat out). They also have food vans visiting the site in season for takeaways.
A day of all things motorhome and campervan. The show is held both in the main indoor arena and across the grounds. Catering, hot drinks and food options are available. Easy access to the site and free parking included. Win one of five pairs of day tickets
