With the increase to 33 pence per KWH (domestic only not business) will sites increase pitch fees and or individually meter electric hook ups and charge in addition to pitch fees?

CAMC already have! Earlier this year emails were sent out to those who'd booked for later this year, saying prices would increase between 70p and £2.50 per night, depending on site/season. I have no doubt other sites will do similar; some CLs I've looked at are around £25 per night without any toilet/shower facilities, so they must have hiked their prices because they offer EHU.
Yes, many CLs are increasing fees. Some are introducing a limit of typically 10 units of electricity per day, anything over and you pay in addition to the pitch fee.

How are they going to tell if you aren't on a meter? Non metered pitches have been a huge rip-off for years anyway. Even £3 a night is extortionate. In 2019 I went on a site with metered electricity and I didn't pay £3 for a whole two weeks electricity.

Who knows? We were on 3 independent sites last week in east Scotland, all £25-27 pn, no limit on EHU use, all with toilets & free showers, none charged for the dog.
Sites may cut costs other ways to compensate for increased energy costs - fewer staff, less grass cutting which uses petrol, less pothole filling, office open shorter hours or closed completely, cut back on building maintenance, refurbishment of older facilities put back a year, lower or no heating in the washrooms, lights on timers rather than on all night, no external lighting.
I wonder how you managed that, Colin? Did you not have hot water or cook by electric? Perhaps you used a lot of gas, instead.
We use a reasonable amount of electric for both these and also heating. Not to say we would use £3 per day, but certainly could not manage on £3 over 2 weeks.
However, we set this against a virtually zero use of gas.
Metered ehu on the sites I mentioned of course. One we went to was a basic £14 pn, we ended up paying £16.50, and we used the caravan Aircon sometimes, that was in the very hot weather.

It would be really interesting to try a metered pitch at the current price to see how much we actually use a day. We tend to cook on gas but use the electric for lights, heating and hot water, none of which we use much of in the summer but will be using increasingly as the autumn progresses.
We are going to Jaydene near Lowestoft soon, a basic £22 pn, they have told us that ehu will be about £2.50 pn on top. Wanted to go to a CL which according to CAMC would be open. Not so, closed on 30/9. They tell me they have amended their details.

We actually used £2.80 worth of electricity, but all we used on electricity at the time was our fridge, which is a normal domestic compressor type, the battery charger, and a small kettle. We didn't use all that much gas either.
We don't/can't cook by electric and we never bother with a TV when we are away. Since then we have changed our water heater for an electric one, partly because the old gas one packed up, and partly because if we are going to have to pay extortionate prices for electricity we might as well make full use of it. We always go to sites with EHU if we are staying more than a couple of nights because of our fridge.
At home until this year, when prices have rocketed, we didn't use £3 worth of gas and electricity combined in 24 hours, except possibly in the very depths of winter. That is for a 3 bedroom house with gas central heating, but there are only the two of us these days.
I think one must look from the point of view of total cost of energy used including gas and electric.
We always use an EHU and so vary rarely use gas. We have a fitted microwave oven and I use an induction hob. Heating water and caravan is always electric. I am quite happy to pay £3pn for the EHU with zero cost of gas.
Just our personal choice.

On our last seasonal pitch (2 years ago) we regularly had a monthly electric bill for about £8 or less and that was us at the van about 10 nights over the month. The most it ever was over the 8 years we were there for one month was £25 when we went often during a winter month. We very much spend our time outdoors/in the awning during the good weather. For our static caravan this year our full bill from 12 May till end September was £29. I expect it to go up but we have always been low electricity users so hoping any increase will be manageable. I've never agreed with a nightly rate.
We only ever went through just over one mid size (7kg) bottle of gas per season and this year from May till now we are still on the same bottle of gas in the static that was provided in May (15kg). I have been advised that it could take a bottle of gas per week in the winter in the static so I'm prepared for that.

Absolutely Uncle, it's all about personal choice. We do have a convector heater that we use on cooler nights when we go away for a few days out of season, but we rarely do that. We didn't need any heating when we went to that metered site as it was in July. I must admit because of financial constraints we only usually manage 3 weeks away a year, and not at all in 2020, but we are still using that 7kg cylinder we were using in 2019. It still had some in it when we came home from a week away in September this year, and we have another spare one unused.
We have been on 1 site this year where reception gave us a topped up card to swipe against site bollard for our pitch.Plus a £10 deposit for card which was refunded when handing back when leaving. Each card programmed for each individual bollard .Said if run out we would have to pay for a top up at reception. Just come home from being away over the last month and 2 of the 4 sites we were on have already installed card readers on electric ready for use next season. Looks as though this is the start of future trend far from the good old days when we started caravanning in the 70’s at under £2 a night.

Yes indeed, a far cry from then. In those days no site we went on had EHU and they all had a fixed price per pitch regardless of what you put on it. That was up to you. No charges for awnings, not that I saw many, no charges per person, and no charges per dog. Just a charge for the pitch. The good old days indeed.
