I was wondering if anyone knew of a caravan site that has long term (3-6 months or more) season pitch, all year round? There are some sites in Scotland I like around Loch Lomond, but they only provide summer season pitches from April to October.
I'm looking for a 6 monther from now (October) through Winter and beyond potentially.
Thanks very much for any tips. I'm new to caravanning!

Hi, welcome to the forum dav1990. THIS LINK shows seasonal pitches within 50 miles of Loch Lomond.
There are 39 of them, not all open for 12 months, so you'll need to trawl through the list to maybe find something suitable.
Good luck!
------------- I came into this world with nothing and I've still got most of it left.
That map link is useful.
I live about an hour away from Loch Lomond. The reason sites shut up shop over winter might just be because it’s dark by 3:00pm and not light until 10:00 at the height of winter, so it’s less popular to go away then. It’s less profitable for the bigger businesses to keep a site staffed & maintained & heated when it’s almost empty, so look for a site that’s not part of a chain & is run by the owners who may well live nearby.
Let us know how you get on!
Glenearly in Dalbeattie is open all year. You can have a 6 or a 12 month pitch. Don't know if there is any availability but it is a cracking site in a cracking area.

I’ve read the OP again, carefully. “I was wondering if anyone knew of a caravan site that has long term (3-6 months or more) season pitch, all year round? There are some sites in Scotland I like around Loch Lomond…”.
They don’t actually say they want a pitch near Loch Lomond - or even in Scotland (that Glenearly site at Dalbeattie, for example).
Hopefully they’ll come back & clarify or confirm where they’d like to be for Oct - Easter.
I can only assume that the original poster is looking for a variety of possibilities when they didn't specify a particular area. Granted its easier to narrow down when an area is specified but sometimes getting recommendations for areas that haven't even been considered can throw up a beauty.
Indeed & many people drive up the M74 past Dumfries & Galloway.
Silvercraigs at Kirkcudbright in D&G is open all year & has seasonal pitches, now I think about it. Always something happening in the town over winter too.

And reasonably priced.

Thanks for your further suggestions. Its an option I'm looking in to while I'm in between homes, after selling up. I would consider a site UK wide. Main criteria would be a lovely spot, perhaps near water (sea or Loch), with a reasonable monthly rate. £25 a night times 30 at £750 + electricity is quite a lot (but much cheaper than a hotel). Some rates I found were £300 per month which is reasonable.

Hi again,
Thanks for your further suggestions. Its an option I'm looking in to while I'm in between homes, after selling up. I would consider a site UK wide. I will look into those suggestions. Thanks
I know someone who lives permanently at Tudor Caravan / Camping , Park Sheperds Patch , Slimbridge in Gloucestershire.
I have stayed at the site myself and it has excellent facilities including a pub restaurant at the entrance and a cafe/ shop across the road and is situated right next to the Gloucester ship canal and a short walk from the World famous Slimbridge bird sanctuary. Great walks along the canal too to some great country pubs.
Maybe worth a little investigation ?
I did some investigation into the suggestions mentioned, and.. I discovered that a lot of sites are closed for the winter. The ones that are open, in England, are on a daily rate, but only allow for 1 month maximum. In Scotland its a bit more lenient in Winter, but many closed over Christmas and New Year. Maybe a wee camper a better option for me. Something discreet.
