More or less sorted now, 4 weeks from 28th May, a week in June near Harlech. Finally managed to book Merthyr Farm but had many "site full" replies. So do it now....

I've just had to cancel our stay at Merthyr for Whitsun week, so there's a pitch up for grabs 27th May - 3rd June. Fantastic site.

We are off over the Channel in early June, ferries insurance and ACSI sorted.
On a river cruise in May during coronation but we didn't know that when we booked. It was rebooked after covid cancellations.

We expect to be in France on Ascension Day and the following weekend. After struggling to find a campsite last year, this year we might plan a little in advance and maybe book the sites on our way through beforehand. Or choose a site, arrive earlier, and stay on over that weekend.

Thanks Mrs Bonce. You just prompted me to book our stopover site for May. We have the main site we are going to booked already but I hadn’t done anything about a stopover. I’ve just booked and the website is saying that availability is low!

I am still struggling with a site near the M6 in Warwickshire. Tried 2 and no reply so far. Hope you get sorted Pixie. Now booked at The Hollies, Balsall Common. Been before (as we have to most sites in that area), it's fine.

We have to book our holidays at work about a year in advance so we can both get the same time off, so have always booked our holidays early. Unfortunately we are waiting for OH to have his knee replacement re-done, so cancelled our holiday we were going on in 2 weeks time, but as yet, still waiting for a date. He was supposed to be in before. Christmas as he’s on the urgent list but still waiting. Looks like we may be able to go away after all so will leave it until next week to book just in case we get the letter, but seeing as the doctors strike this week is happening we won’t hold our breath. We feel our lives have been put on hold, not planning anything “just in case”.

I've just booked Whiteside Farm CL, near New Mills in the Peak District, from Tuesday next week. The CL is full but we were offered a pitch (with hook-up) on their adjoining rally field. Thought there'd be plenty of space outside school holidays/bank holidays - obviously not!

I think next week might still be school holidays in some areas. The children finished on Maundy Thursday.

Is that the site at Strines? I have my eye on that one. Please leave a review (I know you normally do)

Nah. Heading off next weekend to a site with 100 pitches in Dumfries & Galloway, so I’ve not booked, as I know it won’t be anywhere near full. I hate being tied down to a site too far ahead, because the weather changes - so our plans are always Plan A, B and maybe C. The alternative plans are never wasted, they’re a recce for another time.
