Hi All,
We are looking for a campsite for the 2nd August for four nights, looking for something a bit different as its our anniversary. somewhere 2 to 3 hours from teesside. Adult only site if possible but not set in stone, would need electric and a fully serviced pitch would be good
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
Ok, according to Google Maps, 100 miles or so gets you as far north as North Berwick, NW almost as far as Dumfries, south reaches Scunthorpe, West to the coast of the Lake District. Lots of different places & sites.
If you use the Site Search, you can choose Adult Only, fully serviced etc & only look at ones that score 10.
But I can’t suggest anywhere that fits your main brief - “somewhere a bit different for our anniversary”.
Strathclyde Country Park - slightly more than 3 hours but its an easy drive - A66, M6, M74. There is usually plenty of availability and they have serviced pitches.
Location wise - you are in easy reach of Glasgow, Edinburgh, Stirling, Kelpies, Falkirk wheel (and there is a great fish & chip shop nearby)

Hmm. I wouldn’t say Strathclyde Country Park is a special location for an anniversary, beside the M74 at rush hour, surrounded by urban sprawl. Good base, yes, though I’d very much prefer Blair Drummond (Doune / Stirling) for the same day trips - but that’s too far for the OP.
However, the OP still hasn’t said what they’d like to do.
I’m trying to search in the area for a place with on site restaurant - that would be on my wish list for a special anniversary trip.
But the UKCS site search isn’t playing ball today. I can remember one (not been to it) in the Alnwick area (approximately) which had a pukka place on site which looked special. I’ll try again another time.

Cancel that. The Boe Rigg (Bellingham) isn’t adult only & the pitches aren’t fully serviced, so that’s no good.
However, ticking “restaurant on site” brought up some well rated sites. But that’s just my own “special”.
thank you all, were just looking for somewere quite, maybe some walks, little village with a pub, just a nice chill out place where we can just sit and drink wine, hope your all having a good day and have plenty of trips planned
what about the barn at beal northumberland? its on the road to holy island and has a nice resturant, with excellant views over to lindsfarne, not adult only tho
Looking back at most of my reviews, we always stay at CL/CS where possible and they tend to be on the outskirts of towns/cities or out in the sticks. We liked Newark Farm CL which is on the outskirts of Sanquhar, Dumfries and Galloway, but we don't go out to pubs very often. We do drink but in the caravan, so can't really help.
A day of all things motorhome and campervan. The show is held both in the main indoor arena and across the grounds. Catering, hot drinks and food options are available. Easy access to the site and free parking included. Win one of five pairs of day tickets
