I’m looking for some specific help. We have a car and caravan and prefer a site with electric hook up, but it is not essential.
We like Liverpool and Merseyside and want to stay for a week or so next year somewhere that is close to a good bus service into Birkenhead or Liverpool. My wife uses a wheelchair, and it is far easier to get a bus than a train.
Does anyone know of any sites close to Merseyside that are close to bus stops. I don’t mind pushing the wheelchair for a mile, but I’d rather not go further to get a bus.
------------- We camped for years. In 2019 we bought an Elddis Avante 454. We like it as it is short (6.9m) and fits in our driveway and has a fixed bed.
We had 127 nights away in the caravan in 2023.
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
Lyons Farm CL was fine when we stayed there, but I have no idea if it's near a bus route. Had no joy with Wirral sites as none replied to me. Have you considered Chester?

Thanks, that looks like a good possibility.
I agree that Chester would also work.

I know there are cab firms on Wirral (and presumably elsewhere) that take wheelchairs as my friend has used them; if you were able to take a cab to reach a bus route it'd widen your search area. Don't know if you are members of any clubs. There's a lovely CAMC site at Wirral Country Park at Thurstaston, but be aware you'd have to admire the excellent views from the top, as you'd never get a wheelchair up and down the uneven steps to the beach. Good luck! Hope you find somewhere.

Thanks.
We are in the CCC and CaMC and I looked at the Thurstaston site but did not think of using a taxi.
I was born in Birkenhead and lived there until I moved to Glasgow in 1969 so going back to Merseyside is a bit of a trip down memory lane.

Cabs add cost, but also add convenience. If you take a cab from the site to anywhere on the Merseytravel 437 bus route, that's really frequent and runs between West Kirby and Liverpool city centre - into the evenings too. If staying at the Wirral Country Park CAMC site, Flissy's cafe is just across the road, very handy, good cake; Strawberry Moon cafe is halfway up Station Road.

You could look at church farm by the cottage loaf at thurstaston which is near bus stops
Thanks, That looks good. I find it far easier to use a bus that a cab or a train. I'm 76 and like to make pushing my wife in a wheelchair as easy as possible
