“The Butlin's resort in Minehead has announced a four-day closure after the site was damaged during extreme weather conditions on Sunday.”
I hope everyone who’s camping in Somerset & other areas affected by the heavy rain is safe & able to continue their holiday.

I hope so too. We only had a baby thunderstorm last night, but my home village in Warwickshire had a bad storm.

Wow! We were with our caravan on the south downs on Sunday, so not that far away, and all we had was a heavy shower mid-afternoon that lasted all of 5 minutes. The ground was dry again in half an hour.

Best wishes for people’s holidays in Devon too, and for anyone living there of course.
“A clean-up operation is under way after torrential rain flooded homes, roads and businesses in Devon.
“Roads were submerged and fire crews had to help people to safety in Kenton near Exeter on Sunday.”

Not sure if the South Downs are that close to Minehead?

Probably not that close by road, but rain clouds don't travel that way. We were actually at the Amberley open-air museum near Arundel when the shower hit. Well worth a visit in my opinion.
