I had a phone message from them less than 24h before my trip that was booked months in advance, citing some issues at the site and they had to cancel my booking!
Not impressed.
Good job June is not too busy and I am confident I can find late availabilities.

Apart from showing fully booked for next five days, no general problems indicated! If you had a pre-agreed booking, I'd be laying into CAMC pretty damned hard! You don't don't pull stunts like that on me without finding out I'm ruthless in seeking revenge/recompensation! If they've cocked up, THEY pay!

I don't think they would be full as last time I went there in August two years ago it was less than half full
Do they still six notices at the entrance to tell you not to get there till after 1 PM

All CAMC sites do that now, otherwise there might be a queue out onto the main road of people who want the pick of the available pitches. I think it was an earlier checkin before? but people can’t come in until others leave & if you’re the one leaving, you’d be complaining about having to set the alarm at 0600.

What is the point of the notice at the entrance as you need to be there to read it. Thank goodness we gave up on CAMC sites many years ago and saved a small fortune!

Don't all sites state their arrival time online?
Most independent sites have a “leave by” time / an “arrive after” time, usually an hour later, the exceptions being small sites run by their owners rather than paid managers. As early as 10/11, as late as 1/2 pm. Yes, online but not everyone books before turning up.
The difference is that CAMC has a sign. CCC does not have a sign, they just close Reception over lunch: so their sites have an entry queue instead, sometimes blocking people trying to leave.

CAMC sites have some variation in earliest arrival times, my favourite Lake District site is 10am, but then site roads and public access roads can cope with 'comings and goings' at the same time, plus they have a number of temporary overnight 'late arrivals' bays that could be used to 'hold' early arrivals until a spare pitch becomes available if very full.
The site I use for storing my van has a rather curt 'Go away and don't return until after 1pm' sign on it now I noticed! TBF, there is no 'holding' space, certainly for anything like a car and caravan, and the site entrance road is only one vehicle wide, so an incoming queue would block anyone leaving! Not any parking space on nearby public access roads either. Arriving before a pitch is available really is problematic!
I don't really have a problem with a set earliest arrival time around midday (so long as I have prior knowledge!), I've seen sites with something like 4pm as earliest arrival, now that puts me off them! TBH, more miffed by sites that have early departure times, being on my own, and even doing a lot of prep the day before, it seems to be a lot of frantic effort to be ready to roll by 10.30am! As my van is inherently near it's MPTLM, I prefer to load a lot of stuff into the car rather than leave it in the van, so time needed to shift stuff to car as well as all the caravan prep for travel. .... and of course the dog, who needs a 'walk' before the journey!

I deleted the voicemail message immediately after hearing it as I was so annoyed, something about they had no choice but to close, and they would be giving me a full refund.
I did not need that kind of hassle Sunday evening after spending a very long day out and about being an organiser for a big outdoor charity event.
I shall give them the benefit of the doubt, being the first occurence.

Customer service!
Nearly EVERY situation is acceptable to customers IF you explain it correctly and in sufficient detail for them to grasp WHY you can not deliver as expected when it's events outside of your control! What p**ses people off (and rightly so!) is a dismissive inadequate explanation that leaves them put out, but not really knowing why! CAMC demonstrated that attitude a while a go with their cyber attack handling!
Business reputations are built or broken by how they deal with the bad stuff!
I've done customer services as a company's technical representative, and was considered very good at it, having customer thank ME for giving them bad news with honesty and justifiable reasons, and the company 'lumbering' me with the task because I got the very best customer responses to be expected, don't think we ever lost a customer on my watch!
