Turner Hall Campsite in the Duddon Valley is shutting down.
This is a blow to quiet campers who have enjoyed the friendly hospitality of the Hartley family.
It was one of the best Lakeland sites by far.
Unspoilt by cramped and regimented conditions, it was a rare example of how National Park sites should be run.
It was reasonably priced too which camnnmot be said of the greedy owners that abound these days.
Many DofE award youths camped there on their long mountain treks and the owners even saw to it they had clean drying cloths.
Farewell and a big thanks from the outdoor community and best wishes for the future.

Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
Strange?
The UKCS site listing says:
Opening Updates
We are currently taking bookings for arrivals from 24/05/2025 onwards.
And its website says:
THIS WEBSITE & ONLINE BOOKING SYSTEM IS CLOSED.
The Campsite will open from the 24th of May on a first come, first served basis.

After 20 years in business, I will no longer be running Turner Hall Campsite. I’d like to thank everyone for their custom & friendship over the years.
Best wishes for the future,
Hilary
This was posted in January this year.
