why oh why , does the c&cc, NOT issue their new 2025 big sites book until April, many folk will be busy booking sites at this time of year, and the current book is 2 years out of date, let alone the number of CS sites that have been lost, and of course the new ones that are not listed, also the prices are way out of date, ive had the c&mhc one over a month now.
grrr, rant over

Don't think I have ever used C&CC's book, or the CAMC's, always booked online since I became a member of C&CC back in 2007.
With both clubs, I only stay at their club sites for personal safety and security reasons, as I don't like to stay at small quiet and remote locations.

I check online too - here on UKCS first, then on the club website. The paper version of the handbook is already out of date when it arrives, with CSs closed after it was proof read & sent to the printers. And unlike UKCS, the handbook lists very few of the excellent independent sites that are in areas we prefer, most of which have no Club sites & very few CSs.
Personally, I can not remember when I last looked at the sirs book for any real purpose. Like so many others here, the best listing is on this site so I check here first.
I must be an odd ball! I do occasionally refer to the CAMC book/map as a preliminary search, often when no mobile/internet connection when on site/travelling. Then when I can, follow up with an internet search or telephone call for up to date detail.
I've used it when long journeys not going to plan and need a overnight stop site in an emergency, 'cos my storage site has a curfew/last access time and I'm not going to make it!
CAMC recently asked if members wanted to ditch hard copies in favour of App only, I opted to keep the book/map!

yeh i also opted for "paper membership" so i can browse the books whilst away, also if i need a quick referance , the books are at the side of my chair, it would take me at leat half an hour to fire up my laptop and select the c&mhc website, which takes forever to respond to commands.
I still have "paper membership" too and when I'm away is when I am most likely to browse through the book. I don't generally use it for booking sites though. I also always carry an up to date road map book with me rather than relying on electronic means. I got caught out when going down to Devon a couple of years ago. I forgot to bring my map book and thought I knew the way anyway. I did, but got diverted due to a traffic accident onto county lanes I didn't know, and that's when my sat-nav decided to throw a wobbly. I have no idea why, as it was working perfectly up to that point, and it was working perfectly again the following day. It's worked ever since too. It's old so I know it can be a bit temperamental on start-up, but once I've done a couple of miles it's usually fine. I'd done over 100 miles when it decided to act up.

As opposed to digital.
You know, a traditional form of membership.

Stupid here, what is a "paper" membership please?
TIA.

Hi 'Stupid'
'Paper membership' is the option to receive 'hardcopies' of magazines, members hand book etc., as opposed to simply accessing everything online.
PS. Not under any illusion you're 'stupid' DK, far from it I suspect!
You are too kind - and I did ask a stupid question!
It is not easy to find how to change to paperless, however, I have done it now for CAMC.
I just checked and my membership with C&CC is already digital.
