I hate blustery winds! Am looking for site preferably near coast, dog friendly, in a 4 berth van. On looking at reviews of sites, one mentioned a gale on the west side during their stay ( I know everywhere in the last 2 years has experienced this), but I want to make best of our time away. So is the eastern area a bit more sheltered? Prefer site with bar/restaurant dog friendly within a mile walk. Appreciate replies.

East is more sheltered, west is more scenic with nicer beaches imo, but each to their own. Church Bay gets good reviews. It's not very big, you could stay near Llangefni in the centre and get the best of all areas.
West is going to get the worst of the wind but to be honest if it's windy the East won't be that much better.
East has Red Wharf Bay, Beaumaris etc - it's no less beautiful than the West so you won't miss out going East.
East to West coast (Beaumaris to Rhosneigr) drive in 25 - 30 minutes so if staying East and driving to the West on trips out.
Agree worth thinking of Langefni in the middle.
The North Wales coast is usually fairly blowy - rare we don't have a good sea breeze.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
