Looking for a site that's easy to get to and with good access. I like the look of Splash Farm at Lea but don't know how far it is from the A6 nor the length of the farm track. The owner says it's fine, but he would say that. Has anyone been here or any other ideas? Not Tax Farm, want to try a different one.
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
The reviews on UKCS are reassuring about the access. But I had to use the postcode to find it on Google maps, as the list is not listed there. That’ll show you the local roads too, as will the UKCS satellite view.
Woodland walks direct from the site - hopefully not in the wrong direction for your Sky requirements.
You always seem to find interesting sites, Mrs B. Unfortunately, not in areas that we can get to in the time we usually have available.

Not been, but from Google Maps...
From the Tor Cafe (The Cromford/B5036 Junction on the A6) > Take Mill Road > Lea Road to your final turn off by Lea Wood. This is 2.2 miles.
From there is the farm track you mention. This adds a further 0.3 miles to the farm/site.
Total 2.5 miles.
The first 2.2 miles can be seen on Google Maps streetview, and show a "proper" road, with central white lines.
No streetview on that final track though, so it's down to trusting what the site owner says.
Zooming in, Google maps does show what appears to be a large caravan/motorhome on one of the pitches. It had to get there somehow!
Thanks Mucker, helpful but undecided as I remembered the commercial site a mile north of Belper which we stayed at, and liked, when we were still working. It's £23 pn with no loos or showers.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
