Hi all.
I wonder has anyone stayed in this Park or maybe has some local knowledge they could share please? Galtres Retreat & Lodge Park
We're considering taking a holiday there but can't find any reviews (of holiday stays) online, so any information would be really appreciated.
Many thanks

seems to be a post covid site, little to do around the immediate area unless you want to go to flamingoland of course, everything else depends on you taking your car, apart from the one pub in walking distance. im guessing your looking to hire one of the lodges?
Dont know the campsite but know Pickering fairly well for some local knowledge.
It would be a good 20 minute walk into town centre from where the site is.
A quite prosperous little market town with several good independent shops, bakers etc.
There is a medieval castle and
The North Yorkshire Moors steam railway runs from centre of town.
Also if you are a fan, the Matthewsons main site aka Bangers & Cash is on the edge of town.
We find plenty to see and do in Pickering and then of course you have many other gorgeous places to visit further out.
Many thanks everyone for your responses. As there seems to be little to do around the area, apart from visiting Pickering, I think we'll probably look at going somewhere else instead.

The reviews on Google maps had local ideas eg Flamingo Land (if you have children) is 10 minutes drive away. The map will show other attractions too.
I agree with DotP - Pickering is worth a visit. The railway alone is another day trip (to Whitby?).
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
