Does anyone know the reason the toilets and showers are shut for 2026 season just had an email from the club with no explanation.

Best to ask them, the website might say.
The usual reason would be that they are being rebuilt or refurbished & I would hope that was happening, rather than repairs after a burst pipe. We were last there in 2018 - the toilet cubicles were narrow & child size, like school toilets; there were no modesty cubicles for strip washes; the sinks were very low, again child height. Recent reviews (online, let us say) suggest they still need to be upgraded.
The alternative WC (available during cleaning) was ok, if I remember, you could ask if that is still available, but it would not have a shower.
Tough for tent campers though, but other independent sites are available in the area.

I was there last July 2025 as part of my Scottish tour, and yes, the facilities could do with an upgrade, especially the toilet and shower block.

While I was there, their tumble dryer was not working and had not been working for some time.

However, it was a nice site for its views and proximity to gardens, and the roadside café served good coffees and cakes.

Hopefully the closure of their facilities is for an upgrade to make it even nicer.
